We have some fabulous news to share :D As you can see from the headline.. our beloved game ‘The Legend of Sword and Fairy’/ Xian Jian QiXia Zhuan / Chinese Paladin (仙劍奇俠傳) has now been fully translated into English! A group of dedicated PAL fans have gotten together to work on this project and it’s finally complete. I am personally very very excited about this, and can’t wait to re-play it (I’m downloading it as we speak!)

How to download and install the game:

  1. Download PAL98 original game (in Simplified Chinese) here: http://update1.baiyou100.com/resource/Pal98rqp.zip
  2. Download the English patch here: http://www.romhacking.net/translations/2441/ or direct link here.
  3. Extract all files and replace the original game files with the patch files. Run PAL.exe (simply right click and then choose the “Run as administrator” option) and you’re all set! For enhanced game performance, and to remove lots of limitations, please download: SDLPal International Fork from https://github.com/sdlpal/sdlpal

    Do you know how to get the patch to work. I do not know if it’s window compatibility issue , but the translation come out with scramble letters.If so do you have link were I may get more detail instruction or even a you tube video?

    Also since this seem to be a place for dedicate Chinese paladin and as someone who love a lot Asian culture. I would like to see this fan community grows. I would recommend that when 軒轅劍外傳穹之扉(The Gate of Firmament) get steam release date you try to spread word.While it’s not Chinese paladin title it’s from the same company and getting an English language release.As someone who is lurker and has seen many small community like this expand and eventual forge a way for foreign thing to get official release in the west.I am willing to make a list of things I seen works if your interested.Either way keep of the good work with this fan-site.

      SDLPal International Fork is needed to run the game (for enhancements). Please download that from here: https://github.com/CecilHarvey/sdlpal

    Hi there, I extracted all the files and tried to run the game and it showed up with this error. Please advise.

    “Error accessing system registry”
    then
    “Unexpected error; quitting”

    I’m on Windows 10, if that helps with your troubleshooting

      Hi! Not sure whether you still have this problem, but will leave this comment for future downloaders. You just need to open the application as administrator, and it will run. You should be able to run as administrator by right-clicking the application in your file and selecting the option in the drop-down menu :)

    I managed to do the transaltion and play the game. The only problem is that I can’t run the game in fullscreen. How do I manage to put the game in fullscreen?

    I managed the game to work. Just follow the instructions above, but when you start the PAL.exe file, make sure to run as administrator. Simply just right click and then choose the “Run as administrator” option.

    I just downloaded the iOS version of this game in Chinese. However there’s no explaination on how to use some of the fight skills or the potions. Where can I get those info ?
