The 5 elemental stones play quite a role in the game, and ultimately, Ling Er uses them to summon rain upon Nan Zhao Guo which was in drought for several years- this ending drought was able to stop the war which happen to be taking place between the Black and White Mao people at that time.
In the TV Series, the 5 stones were merely used to revive Ling Er it seems. The importance of the stones were somewhat different.. Ling Er never summoned rain, and Nan Zhao Guo wasn't in a drought. It did however, show that Ling Er's mother and Sheng Gu casted rain upon Nan Zhao in the past, which caught the King's attention. In the end, Bai Yue was able to obtain them..but what did he actually use them for? To assist him in creating the flood??
I liked the Game better...because it gave Ling Er more role in Nan Zhao, the rain stopped the war, and she eventually sacrifices her life for her people.. it was more obvious and direct whereas in the drama, it wasn't as effective.. Ling Er returning to Nan Zhao didn't really do much, apart from killing the water demon.
yea I agree. All this fuss about bringing the princess back to NanZhaoGuo to save the country..I think they should have got her to bring rain to the country like her mother.

Seemed like it ey? But if that's so, how did he create the water demon 10 years ago? Or was it to break the seal LingEr's mother put on the sea deamon, which BaiYue ended up reviving?
From what I recall from memory, in the game weren't the elemental stones used to enhance their attacks by giving them elemental god powers? (fire god, mountain god, thunder god etc?)
if they didnt revive ling er then there will be a problem in the ending cause xiaoyao energy was depleted after fighting bai yue then who else will have the power to defeat water demon

You mean the part where Ling Er summons rain? It wouldn't work because uh, in the game, Nan Zhao Guo was VERY dry, it hasn't rain for years. But in the drama there is a huge pond for the summoning of the water demon.
...that's because..they changed it >< That's...dumb...
aiiya, I guess it wouldn't work also since lao Lao says there's lot of beautiful native flowers in Nan Zhao, which wouldnt be possible if there were no rain.
The pond has always been there, meaning the place has enough water to survive, which explains why Ling Er didn't have to summon rain again in the show rather than in the game, where the place is VERY dry.
