You know how the word in his hand was gone at the beginning? And then it came back when he regained his memories..doesn't it seem like that shows his memories instead of his love? Like, if XiaoYao loved LingEr throughout, how come there's no emphasis on it reoccuring? Feels like its his memories with LingEr at the start [Wedding etc]
I think the spell had a downturn which Ling Er wasn't aware of..it probably only works if Xiao Yao remembers, or is concious about the spell does it actually take affect. When Xiao Yao loses his memory and she looks at his palm with no "ling" symbol she thought all hope is lost, and Xiao Yao appeared to be a jerk like he was before he met Ling Er...however, during the tower- when he did start getting memory back- it was clear that the symbol must return, as it represents his love for Ling Er- and he loved her the whole way, even when he was with Yue Ru.
Thats why during the course of their journey, the sign "ling" would have started appearing on his hand before they met Yue Ru if the spell worked even though he forgot about it... but he wasnt aware of the spell, so it had no affect.
Xiao Yao could've said "You know what? Fuck it! Let's get married, Yue Ru, and go home" anytime during the adventure. But no.
Ling Er didn't want Xiao Yao to get involve something that's none of his concern, and if he gets involved, there are chances that he may die. That's why she urge Yue Ru to take Xiao Yao and go back. I agree that it is very selfish of Ling Er to do such things, but Xiao Yao didn't complain, he went through all these "5#!T" and by the time he finally reunite with Ling Er, his first sentence isn't "Thanks for putting me through all these '5#!T'."
