PAL windows 95 version DOWNLOAD (10 April 2010)

my mean is that the http://www.zhaolinger.net/pal/download/pal95.rar had been dos version since i uploaded before, but I change it to http://www.zhaolinger.net/pal/download/pal.rar now.

the correct link (95 version) is http://www.zhaolinger.net/pal/download/pal95.rar (upload today,8/20/06).

I've managed to download the game from the above link but both the pal.rar and the pal95.rar require a password to unzip. Where can I obtain the password?

Edit: I've managed to find the password on another website but now I've realized that I have to install it. However, i'm running on Windows 7 and it doesn't seem like I can. Can someone help me with this please?

Please, can anybody tell me which password I need to extract the archives? "FAIRYSWORD" does not work. I have looked long, however, can nowhere find one point on passwort.

Ok, I decided to update this thread (especially the first post) to hopefully make it easier for everyone to download and install... so I downloaded the file myself to see if it works! XD

After downloading this version:

Unzip the folder using the password and get this:



Clicking on the files don't seem to do anything. Can someone please try it out and let me know of a solution to run this properly? I think it will benefit everyone if we made sure all links work, with a installing instructions posted.

that one seems to be the DOS version and running pal.exe under Windows directly should work (without sound & music though).

hmm.. I tried it again and the screen goes blank, seemingly to start up, but then it just closes and disappears :/...without any messages.

well I tried downloading from http://www.zhaolinger.net/pal/download/pal95.rar, however it is NOT the DOS version like this screenshot:

...but a full ISO of Win95 Traditional Chinese Version... and just burn & copy all of the files from the disc & run works well here (CD is needed without a crack).

so I guess the other 2 links I provided can go away as well as they are just the ripped version of the same one which don't contain the videos and CD tracks

EDIT: I checked the forum @ zhaolinger.net and the link to DOS version seems to be this one:

Anyways, I've been having problems getting pal95 and 98 (the first two links) to work.

I mounted the pal95 image in daemon tools, ran SETUP.EXE with applocale set as Traditional Chinese. I got to the step where I think it asks if you want to do a partial installation (50mb) or a full 250mb installation. Underneath there is a text input field.. I'm guessing its the install path, but the characters in here appear as weird symbols, by default and when I try to type something else.

If I just ignore that and press next, it tells me that I do not have enough disk space..LOL. Actually I have a vague memory of encountering this problem before, but I have no clue how or even if I got it to ever work.

I tried running PAL.exe with applocale straight from the virtual drive, it asks me to insert pal95 cd.. I could try actually burning the disk, but that won't help in the long run because how would i save the game if i'm running it off the disk.

So there's my problem with the 95 version.


With the 98 version, installation went smoothly. However, some parts of the game has funky colors. The text does not display properly (appear has solid white block) even when running it with applocale.
I tried running it in compatibility mode (win95 and win98), force 640x480, and 256 colors.

the installer of pal win95 version won't get along well with large partitions. However it's possible to just copy everything from the disc and run.

It only detects the first CD-ROM drive for CD check though.

Not sure about the color problem... it never happens here.
